What is blog? You might ask. Well, Blogmas is basically a bloggers way of counting down the days to Christmas by posting a new blog every day.

Guys, this is going to be a serious challenge for me; nevertheless I am excited to share all of what I have planned for you. This Blogmas celebration is my way of giving the blog a new birth.  So, stop by everyday with a cup of tea or coffee and celebrate Blogmas with. I am so excited to take this journey with you.

I was at the stoplight when i grabbed the camera and shot these pics. These pictures of Emancipation Park, in New Kingston Jamaica

I remember there was public up roar because the statues are nude.

There is actually water cascading down the side of the dome (lack of a better word).

One of these days, i will take you inside the park.

The Great House Experience

Jamaica being a former colony of Britain there are a number of great houses in the country. A great house is the main house on a plantain and Devon House is one of the great houses in Kingston. According to the Devon House's website the site is 127 years old.  The property is 11-acres, its lush sprawling lawns provides an ambiance that soothes the mind and soul, and offers an enviable shopping experience for both local and overseas visitors.  What i love most is that Devon House was built by Jamaica’s first black millionaire George Stiebel. Just in case your wondering  I m not getting paid or compensated for this post.

The truth is I have fond memories of the grounds because i attended high school up the road. I remember swinging from the trees (literally), having Devon House I- Scream with school mates on Fridays and most of all selecting a tree and craving my name in it.

Now it's a place where i take my daughter to make up for the terror of swimming class. To her it is the oasis where pastry and ice cream is always available. To her Devon House is a place with the huge tree cover in lights at Christmas time.  Just thinking about it,  over the years there must be hundreds of memories created and shared at Devon House.

Pictures from my recent visit to Devon House.

Out and About Mondays- New Kingston Hotel

I recently took my daughter to one of the hotels in New Kingston, Jamaica as a form of sightseeing. Since the age of 2,  she loves to go there to see the fishes (they have huge fishes). By now you must have guess that i love bodies of water. So, it is one of my favourite things to do. Every time i go to this hotel, i feel at peace because of there water features.  I hope you enjoy.

Can you believe this was man made?

See what i mean, huge fishes

I thought this was a lovely touch.

CUTE idea!!!!!

This is another waterfalls.

'Lionesses on the Rise', I had to capture that phrase.
