The Dress-Royal Wedding

Image
I am just going to be honest. I was purposely not following the mania preceding the royal wedding. However this morning, my mom woke me up at 5 am. She was fanatic because she wanted to see the wedding online. Slowly, i crawled out of bed towards the computer. I found the Associated Press's live streaming of the wedding. Then i saw THE dress!!!! Need i say more.
I am over joyed that i saw the wedding.  I shall be in a really good mood today.

Do you think about it?

When was the last time you did the right thing beacuse it was the right thing to do?
Character is doing the right thing when nobody's looking.  There are too many people who think that the only thing that's right is to get by, and the only thing that's wrong is to get caught (J.C. Watts).  It is very easy to say but often very hard to do.For the last two weeks i have been faced with the reality of adulthood.
One night after rushing home, I stopped at the stoplight and reached for my phone.  The next thing i knew, I was in the back of a Honda Civic 2005 motor car. To say i was freaking out was an understatement.
After just exchanging numbers we both went  our separate way. I prayed no damage would be found but that was not the case. The car had to be fixed and we both decided on not going through the insurance company or reporting the accident to the police. The bill was $28,500 Jamaica dollars about 330 dollars US. To answer your question no i am not rich. I am actually …

Positive Wednesdays +Blog Hop

Image
Today's Positive Wednesday is a two in one. I wanted to share my positivity, as usual, but i also want to have a meet and greet in the form of a blog hop. This is my first time hosting a blog hop, so i decided i wanted to share the experience with three other beautiful bloggers.

Surrounding Yourself with the Right People
It's easy to recognize a perfect candidate for your support team. Just look for someone who has a way of making everyone else around them better: someone who succeeds by developing other people and letting them in on the fun; someone who is genuinely happy when other people succeed. That's the person you want on your side. The pages of history are heavy with tales of the misguided who were proven wrong while insisting something couldn't be done. Why put up with that? Believe in your goals enough to know that you shouldn't stomach people who don't. It's okay if you're the only one who believes in your dream. But someone who truly believes …

Are You Tired of Forgetting? - DIY Sundays

Image
I have said it before, i would like to think that i am an organized queen. However, that is far from reality. In reality i live with organized chaos.  Therefore i have used various tools to help me remember the important details. Here are a few ideas that work well for me. I would love if your shared  your tips.

Set up a reminder system Remembering multiple birthdays and anniversaries can be difficult. There is an easy way to remember these dates by only making a note once. That is by putting each date into a computer calendar or PDA (personal digital assistant). You can then set the system to remind you of each date a set time beforehand to allow you time to purchase a card or gift.

Write it down
Nothing beats the tried and true method of writing information down and making a list. Not to mention the added bonus of the good feeling you will have when you start crossing off the things you have completed. When you keep a written list, your brain becomes free to remember other things.

I wanna LOVE you!!!!!

Have you ever wondered how greatness is born? Or have you thought about what cell, molecule or thought creates sheer brilliance? Well I have!!!
So tonight or this it is morning (3: 13am, April 22) I have been wondering what separates us mere morals from the Titans of the various genres of the Arts. Don't get me wrong, i am by no means indicating that we are any less than these trail blazers. I just wanted to highlight my admiration for great talent.
I would love if you could share one of your favourite trail blazers from any genre of Arts. Here is one of my favourite trail blazer from music.

Positive Wednesdays- Power of Positive Thinking!!

Image
I am sure you have heard more than once that your should think positively. However, what exactly is positive thinking, you might wonder.  Read and find out.
Positive thinking means having "hopefulness and confidence about the future or successful outcome of something; a tendency to take a favourable or hopeful view." Positive thinking in the typical sense of the word, ultimately means one expects the best possible outcome from any given situation. The Victor

If you think you are beaten, you are.
If you think you dare not, you don't.
If you like to win but think you can't,
It's almost a cinch you won't.
If you think you'll lose, you're lost.
For out in the world we find
Success begins with a fellow's will.
It's all in the state of mind.
If you think you are out classed, you are.
You've got to think high to rise.
You've got to be sure of your-self before
You can ever win the prize.

It's Time to Organize Your Handbag-DIY Sundays!!!!!

I don't know about you, but i love big bags. But, the down side to having a big bag is not being able to find anything. Well i say the it's time to organized. Here are a few step that i found useful from About.com:
STEP 1: Go through your bag and take everything out. You'll likely be looking at a lot of "junk" or items you just don't' know what to with. Toss the junk and put the not-sure-what-to-do-with-these aside for now.

STEP 2: Think about the bag you're using for everyday use. WalletCell PhoneKeysWriting utensil and small notebookSmall pack of tissuesNeosporinLip balmAsk yourself: Is it big enough? Is it too big? Do you like the way it looks? Are the straps digging into your shoulder uncomfortably?
STEP 3: Now, take those items you're not sure about and decide to keep or toss them. Separate the remaining items into an "All The Time" pile (read: the items you need to have in your bag daily) and a"Sometimes" for the items …

TAG- You're IT!!!!

There is something about a tag that makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Maybe its the inner child in me roaring her unruly head. My girl,  Sil tagged me for this one and i was over the moon.
This tag is unique (at least to me) because it is a handwriting tag. My penmanship has improved overtime but it is still horrible.
My camera decided to be temperamental today, so i made a video with my PC. Sorry about the quality guys. So here goes.

For more details on this tag check my girl, Sil's blog (just click on the word, Sil for the link).

Positive Wednesdays-Overcoming Abuse

Image
Last week a Policeman walked into his in-laws house and shot his father, mother, brother in- laws, his 16 year old step-daughter and his estranged wife. They all died except the wife. Then, he went over to his sister- in- laws house to shoot her too. He was unsuccessful, so he killed himself.
Later it was reported that he verbally and emotionally abused his wife of 14 years. With this in mind, i wanted to focus on overcoming abuse. I will not begin to think, i understand what someone who is being abused or has been abused is going through. I just want to offer a word of support (a virtual shoulder of so to speak).

Are you a lion or a lamb?
You wake you up and look a the dull walls smiling back at you. The voices say,  it's time to end it all. You are nothing!!! The world can go on without you.
My question is how will your life be remembered?  Will your story be lost among the millions, who were afraid to take a chance? Or will you leave something noble behind?
There's everything…

The Versatile Blogger

Image
I am all smiles has i type this blog. I realized today, April 9, 2011,  that i was awarded The Versatile Blogger award by Krystal.
I felt so honoured because i am amazed that my ramblings are able to touch so many persons from so many countries (Estonia, Brazil, Africa, USA, Canada, England, Bahrain, etc).
It might not be a big thing for many but i am blessed to not be jaded by it all. It is just mind blowing to see the impact blogging has. Just to think that i started blogging because i found it therapeutic. The poster on my wall is true for me 'blogging is cheaper than therapist'.

Here are some rules that come along with this award (No, i did not create the rules. But i think they are pretty cool.). So the rules are: Thank the person who gave you the award and link back to them in your post. Tell us seven things about yourself Award fifteen recently discovered new bloggers Contact these bloggers and let them know they’ve received their award

DIY Sundays- Getting Rid of Excessive Paper

I am plaque by the paper demon. It seems the more i throw away, the more i accumulate. Here are some tips you can use to address the problem.
Shedule It Set aside a certain amount of time each day to process paperwork. Open and sort mail on a daily basis. Immediately recycle anything you do not need. Keep and handle all important documents in one designated area. Divide the papers into main categories of action whether it is to Read, Pay, File or simply Do. Evaluate It
Evaluate your current magazine and newspaper subscriptions. Consider keeping only the subscriptions that you read on a regular basis. Donate old magazines to senior centers, shelters or doctors offices after you have read them. Keep in mind that more and more magazines these days carry many of their articles, if not the whole issue, online. Organize It Do you cut coupons, but don't use them? It is a great way to save money, but if you are not using the coupons, do not save them. If you do want coupons, make sure to keep…

The Dreaded Blankie Syndrome

I have been wanting to write this post for quite sometime but life happened. You know what i mean.
For the last year i have been dealing with the blankie syndrome. When children are babies it is extremely cute seeing them cuddled up with their blankies. However, as time progress, those cute babies often grow into busy toddlers, who cann't live without their blankies. Parents are then caught in a do or die situation. I think i am in that situation now. My daughter is 4 and she is totally hooked on her blankie. As i write this post, she is fast asleep with her blankie in hand.
I find myself caught between taking the blankie and putting it up or allowing her to grow out of it. I guess my fear is she might not grow it out. Yet, i do not want to take it away and cause her to be psychologically in balanced(i know it sounds crazy but that is what i think). This is what i mean when i say i am caught in a do or die situation.
I am also aware that i am an enabler and most parents are without re…

Positive Wednesdays - NEVER GIVE UP!!!!!!

Image
I read this and it literally spoke to what i was thinking. So, I wanted to share it with you. If you can  relate let me know.

Do you ever get frustrated because things are moving too slowly in your life? Many people don't realize that building a foundation for success does not happen overnight. It is a slow process in which you are constantly working and learning. After all, that foundation must remain strong, even in times of failure or crisis. This takes time!
You may have to remind yourself that "failing" is only failure if you quit; otherwise it's a learning opportunity. So don't worry if your life seems to be moving in slow motion. Concentrate on building a solid foundation and learning from your back steps.

Be not afraid of going slowly; be afraid only of standing still.

DIY Sundays

I am late with posting this week's DIY Sundays because i was not sure what i wanted to blog about. I also did not want to blog about something just because i had to write a post. Call me an idealist but i would like to think that every blog post i write has meaning and worth. Anyways, let me not ramble on.
Today's DIY Sundays is a little different. It is not about beauty or makeup but about organization. I would like to think that i am an organized diva, however that is not quite reality. In reality i am a procrastinator whose every day life is made up of structured chaos.
Here are five tips that help me function. I hope you will find them helpful.

Subtract Steps. Carry all of your cleaning supplies in a bucket rather than walking back and forth to the cleaning supply area. Fold clothes as you take them out of the dryer. Unload groceries directly into the pantry or fridge rather than putting them on the counter first.

Make Standard Lists: Make standard lists for anything that you…
