It's Relaxtion Time My Lovelies!!!-DIY SUNDAYS

Image
It's all about relaxation Beyond a take-charge approach and a positive attitude, you can reduce stress in your life by nurturing yourself. If you regularly make time for fun and relaxation, you’ll be in a better place to handle life’s stressors when they inevitably come. Don’t get so caught up in the hustle and bustle of life that you forget to take care of your own needs. Nurturing yourself is a necessity, not a luxury. Set aside relaxation time. Include rest and relaxation in your daily schedule. Don’t allow other obligations to encroach. This is your time to take a break from all responsibilities and recharge your batteries. Connect with others. Spend time with positive people who enhance your life. A strong support system will buffer you from the negative effects of stress. Do something you enjoy every day. Make time for leisure activities that bring you joy, whether it be stargazing, playing the piano, or working on your bike. Keep your sense of humor. Th

Then I learnt that this person, whom I trusted, totally abused my trust and deceived me. I felt like my world had crashed. I felt a hurt and pain that was indescribable.  Why am i relating this experience. I want you to know that we are all stronger than we think. You might think you are at the end of your rope, your world has been destroyed. But, remember your not build to break.                                               Clouds come floating into my life, no longer to carry rain or usher storm, but to add color to my sunset sky. - Rabindranath Tagore Read more: http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/topics/topic_inspirational.html#ixzz1MTV95vmq

DIY Sunday - Change the Situation (Managing Stress)

Image
So, yesterday i was having one of those days. I was just down right feeling crappy. Thanks you everyone for your kind comments. To say i have been feeling stress is an understatement. I guess paying mortgage and renovating a new house can do that to you. This is the second post based on an article about dealing with stress. Stress Management Strategy: Change the situation If you can’t avoid a stressful situation, try to alter it. Figure out what you can do to change things so the problem doesn’t present itself in the future. Often, this involves changing the way you communicate and operate in your daily life.   Express your feelings instead of bottling them up. If something or someone is bothering you, communicate your concerns in an open and respectful way. If you don’t voice your feelings, resentment will build and the situation will likely remain the same.   Be willing

We have been having what i call beach days(Bight, beauiful sunshine). However, i have been so busy trying to meet deadlines, i have not had the chance to enjoy these days. This article reminded me of this very important point, cease the day and live It!!!!!  I hope it impacts you positively!!! Live Your Best Life!!!!!!!!! There is no lesson for today. You have permission to stop thinking for a moment and just enjoy yourself. Stop looking at your computer right now and go look at the world. Rediscover the natural wonders that you walk past every day. How can there possibly be that many shades of green? Let your mind be grateful for a break. Don't think, don't strain. Let the memories of loved ones remind you of your favorite times. Close your eyes and try to smell the sunshine. Listen to your heart beat in your ears. If it's raining, smile at the thought of the flowers that will soon follow. If you're surrounded by buildings, celebrate the

Stress Management Tips

I woke up this morning feeling like I have been whipped. This, I guess, is a result of a stressful week.  I am sure you often have stressful situations yourself. How do we deal with stress? Here are some tips you can use to avoid unnecessary stress. Stress management strategy #1: Avoid unnecessary stress Not all stress can be avoided, and it’s not healthy to avoid a situation that needs to be addressed. You may be surprised, however, by the number of stressors in your life that you can eliminate. Learn how to say “no” – Know your limits and stick to them. Whether in your personal or professional life, refuse to accept added responsibilities when you’re close to reaching them. Taking on more than you can handle is a surefire recipe for stress.   Avoid people who stress you out – If someone consistently causes stress in your life and you can’t turn the rela

Positive Wednesday + Blog Hop 2nd Edition!!!!!!

T he most prominent question of the last 10 years has been, where were you on September 11? The events of September 11 has impacted the entire world. I remember vividly as a teenage standing in a Canadian store  seeing the second plane flying into the tower. I thought that it was a movie. So, i asked the cashier the name of the movie. He looked at me solemnly. It was then someone in the store responded that it was not a movie. It was real. Immediately, i was sick in my stomach. The world changed that day. Whether we like to admit it or not, we started to fear anything unfamiliar. We started to search people's faces for any sign of deceit. We started to wonder could he, she, they or them be carrying a bomb. The innocence of the 90's were over. The world was now a place to be feared. The world became hard, callous and uncaring. This is the legacy of 9-11. As i type tears are filling my eyes. Yet, unlike so many of you, i was not affected by the lost of a love one. I cann

DIY Sundays-Home Edition

I was under the weather today; as a result of this, i have not responded to my new followers from the blog hop. I want you to know i will be stopping by. Five (5) Ways to use Rubbing Alcohol 1 Remove hair spray from mirrors When you are spritzing your head with hair spray, some of it inevitably winds up on the mirror. A quick wipe with rubbing alcohol will whisk away that sticky residue and leave your mirror sparkling clean. 2 Clean your phone Is your phone getting a bit grubby? Wipe it down with rubbing alcohol. It’ll remove the grime and disinfect the phone at the same time. 3 Remove ink stains Did you get ink on your favorite shirt or dress? Try soaking the spot in rubbing alcohol for a few minutes before putting the garment in the wash.     4 Prevent ring around the collar To prevent your neck from staining your shirt collar, wipe your neck with rubbing alcohol each morning before you dress. Feels good too. 5 Make a shapeable ice pa
